Whitebeam, number 8 on the site map, is a detached, south-facing retreat with expansive views over Exmoor.
Inside, the light and airy open-plan design features a living area with picture windows framing stunning views. Furnished in natural materials with two sofas and an armchair (we supply a mattress topper for the sofa bed), the space is complemented by maps, guidebooks, and games. The TV is set up with Amazon and Netflix and there is super fast Wifi throughout.
The dining area has a generous table seating eight comfortably, with French doors opening onto a lovely private dining terrace. A cosy snug with soft cushions provides a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views and everchanging skies over Exmoor.
The spacious kitchen is well-designed with ample worktop space, a dishwasher, washer-dryer, and a full-sized fridge freezer. Equipped with an oven, grill, ceramic hob, microwave, cafetière, hand blender, and all necessary cookware, the kitchen overlooks a bird-filled hedgerow. Exmoor Teas, locally roasted coffee, olive oil, and basic condiments are provided.
Whitebeam offers two double bedrooms and a twin, each providing a calm sanctuary with luxurious French linen bedding. Views vary, with one double overlooking the moor and the others offering serene hedgerow vistas.
Two tastefully decorated bathrooms include one with a walk-in shower and another with a bath and shower over. We provide towels, toilet rolls, kitchen paper, and high-quality eco-friendly cleaning products.
French doors open to a private dining terrace with informal seating areas amid lovely planting, perfect for summer breakfasts or evening barbecues by the fire pit. We have recently installed a wonderful wood fired hot tub in a private garden adjacent to Whitebeam..perfect for relaxing after a coastal walk or just unwinding taking in the stunning Exmoor landscape or looking at the stars on a clear night.
For our four-legged guests there are fleece blankets, bowls, and eco-friendly doggy bags
We have two EV chargers on site as well as plenty of parking and all of our lodges are easily accessible
A utility room provides laundry facilities and a lending library of books and games.
There is an art room, available for the use of our guests ( except for when art courses are running). Residential courses are available from September to May..see our art course page for details.
